Named after the low-flying commercial jets taking off from nearby SJU airport, Aviones is famous among the local surfing community for its consistent, fast reef breaks. Adjacent to the surf point are small sand patches and natural tidal pools cut into the coral shelf where non-surfers can dip their feet while watching boarders take on the waves.
